Job Summary: The Senior Production Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of production processes in our chemical manufacturing facility. This position involves designing, implementing, and optimizing production systems, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and driving continuous improvements in process efficiency, safety, and product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead process design, optimization, and troubleshooting to enhance production throughput, quality, and safety.
- Monitor, analyze, and improve production operations to ensure consistent, high-quality output and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement engineering solutions to resolve complex technical issues in the production environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, Maintenance, and Safety, to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff.
- Oversee the scale-up of new products and processes from pilot to full-scale production.
- Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure all processes adhere to safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
- Support capital improvement projects and ensure proper integration of new equipment and technology.
- Participate in root cause analysis and failure investigations for production-related issues.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years process experience in the petrochemical or refining industry
- In-depth knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Proven track record of process optimization and project management.
- Experience with process control systems, automation, and process simulation tools.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and industry best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
- Familiarity with HAZOP, P&ID, and process safety management.
- Experience with ERP and process control software (e.g., SAP, DCS, PLC systems).
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
