Job Title: Senior Procurement Manager - Construction

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement activities for our construction projects in Raleigh, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, managing, and coordinating the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for the successful completion of construction projects. This role requires strong negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials and services.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, timely delivery, and compliance with contract terms.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure procurement activities align with project goals.
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and availability of materials.
- Prepare and manage the procurement department budget, track expenses, and report key metrics to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee the delivery of purchased goods to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage and resolve any issues related to supplies and suppliers.
- Ensure adherence to all safety, quality, and compliance regulations.
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a senior management role within the construction industry.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or PMP are highly desirable
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, such as SAP Ariba or Coupa.
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
