Job Title: Procurement Manager (Direct & Indirect Categories)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Procurement Manager to oversee both Direct and Indirect Procurement categories within a dynamic retail environment. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, the ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving cost-saving initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and efficient acquisition of goods and services that meet both operational and strategic business objectives. This position requires a strong understanding of retail procurement practices, supplier negotiation, inventory management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Procurement:
- Manage sourcing, selection, and purchasing of direct materials, including products for retail inventory, ensuring cost-effective and timely acquisition.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure high-quality products, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Merchandising, Operations, and Supply Chain) to align purchasing decisions with business goals, inventory requirements, and promotional strategies.
- Perform market analysis to identify trends, optimize product assortment, and reduce sourcing costs without compromising quality.
- Oversee the end-to-end process of purchasing, including order placement, monitoring shipments, and resolving any supply chain or quality issues.
- Indirect Procurement:
- Manage the procurement of non-product-related goods and services, including but not limited to IT services, marketing materials, utilities, office supplies, and equipment.
- Build and maintain relationships with third-party vendors to ensure favorable terms and conditions for indirect spend categories.
- Monitor and analyze spend trends, identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction.
- Negotiate contracts and manage contract renewals to ensure the best value for the organization.
- Supplier Management & Negotiations:
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to ensure cost reductions, quality improvements, and sustainable practices.
- Develop and implement supplier scorecards and performance management systems.
- Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier compliance to contract terms and delivery schedules.
- Process Optimization & Strategy:
- Identify, recommend, and implement procurement best practices and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with company goals and objectives.
- Utilize data and analytics to monitor procurement performance and guide decision-making for both direct and indirect categories.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory procurement requirements, including contract law, labor standards, and environmental policies.
- Mitigate risk by diversifying supplier base and managing inventory levels to ensure business continuity.
- Reporting & Analytics:
- Prepare and present regular procurement performance reports to senior leadership.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for both direct and indirect procurement categories.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, with a focus on both direct and indirect categories in the retail industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain management, and retail operations.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.), and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPM, CSCP).
- Experience with global sourcing and managing international supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of sustainability and ethical sourcing practices in procurement.
