Job Description: Supply Chain Coordinator
Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Supply Chain Coordinator to support the smooth and efficient operation of our supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and products. This role is crucial to optimizing supply chain performance and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the procurement of raw materials and finished products to ensure uninterrupted production and delivery.
- Supplier Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers, negotiating delivery schedules, pricing, and terms to meet production requirements.
- Order Processing: Process purchase orders, track shipments, and manage inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
- Shipping & Logistics: Coordinate transportation and shipping activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Work with third-party logistics providers to manage freight and shipment schedules.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory, purchase orders, and supplier information in the company's ERP or supply chain management systems.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, resolving any issues related to product quality, delivery delays, or pricing discrepancies.
- Demand Forecasting: Collaborate with sales, production, and operations teams to anticipate future supply needs and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce supply chain costs through efficient inventory management, vendor negotiations, and process improvements.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that incoming products meet company quality standards and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers in a timely manner.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, finance, and customer service teams to align supply chain activities with company goals and customer expectations.
- Reporting: Generate and maintain reports on inventory, shipments, and supplier performance to provide management with actionable insights.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or procurement roles.
- Experience with ERP systems and supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing supplier relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for reporting and data analysis.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of international shipping regulations and experience with import/export logistics.
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
- Experience in manufacturing or retail environments.
