As an integral member of our Safety Team, you will play a crucial role in identifying hazards, developing risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety excellence within our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA) utilizing various methodologies.
- Participate in auditing programs to ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) regulations.
- Collaborate with project engineering staff to integrate Prevention through Design (PtD) techniques into capital projects.
- Provide EHS support for project design and start-up safety reviews.
- Serve as a focal point for plant Facility Siting Studies and maintain plans for ongoing and future efforts.
- Train, develop, and mentor plant personnel on specific PSM focus areas.
- Coordinate implementation of Business Unit requirements for PSM Standards at the St. Louis Plant.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and champion change initiatives.
- Conduct safety training courses and provide input on equipment installation and troubleshooting.
- Utilize EHS management system software for incident reporting and evaluation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant field of study.
- 5-10 years of work experience in pharmaceutical and/or chemical/petrochemical industry, with prior PSM experience.
- Strong knowledge of chemical process engineering principles and regulations.
- Ability to prepare and communicate technical data effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with batch processes and facility siting studies.
- Knowledge of cGMP and environmental regulations.
- Continuous improvement experience (e.g., Six Sigma or Lean activities).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict management skills.
Working Conditions:
This position involves both office and plant settings, with potential exposure to outdoor conditions and occasional overtime requirements, including weekend or holiday work.
