Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our dynamic team in a leading chemical manufacturing company. This individual will be responsible for the development, optimization, and implementation of manufacturing processes that enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality. The Senior Process Engineer will work cross-functionally to design, scale, and troubleshoot chemical processes, ensuring they meet both operational and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage process design and optimization projects from conceptualization to implementation, including cost estimation, feasibility analysis, and commissioning.
- Analyze and monitor current production processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for optimization.
- Develop and implement process improvements, driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, energy consumption, and downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and quality standards in all process activities.
- Work with R&D and production teams to scale up new chemical processes & formulations from laboratory to pilot and full-scale production.
- Develop and maintain process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of process-related issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize production downtime.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Lead and participate in risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and other safety evaluations for process modifications or new projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain, to ensure seamless production and product quality.
- Contribute to the development and management of project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for process engineering initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of chemical process design, process control, and optimization techniques.
- JMP or similar statistical software tools
- Proven track record in leading process improvement projects and driving operational efficiencies.
- Solid understanding of safety, environmental, and quality compliance regulations in the chemical industry.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to address complex engineering challenges.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and with stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
