Job Title: Estimator

Position Overview: They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with shipbuilding projects, ensuring that our bids are competitive and profitable. This is a remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work remotely with a preference on MST or PST.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information.
- Develop and maintain a database of cost information for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Prepare detailed and comprehensive bid proposals.
- Monitor and update estimates as project conditions change.
- Provide support during contract negotiations and project planning.
- Complete proposals, submittals, estimates, and bid summary sheets.
- Develop detailed specifications and estimates for marine projects.
- Identify and communicate all special requirements on estimates to owners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience or Associate's degree with 5+ years of experience in the shipbuilding/maritime industry.
- Strong background in marine design and engineering, with knowledge of materials used in marine construction.
- Working knowledge of new ship construction, repair, and conversion, including vessel types, systems, and components.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workloads.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
