Qualifications
- Customer-centric and solution-oriented mindset
- Strong understanding of logistics and customer needs
- Knowledge of transportation methods, warehouse requirements, and incoterms
- Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with customers and vendors, maintaining high integrity
- Experience in guiding and improving sales skills within a team
- Over 5 years of experience in sales within transportation, forwarding, or warehousing sectors
- Management experience
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Good understanding of Dutch
Job Description
- Identify and acquire new customers for transportation services to achieve operational income targets
- Provide transportation rate quotes for customer and freight forwarder inquiries
- Lead a team of sales executives specializing in road freight, transportation, warehousing, and freight forwarding
- Conduct weekly meetings with the sales team
- Source competitive rates from various suppliers (Hauliers, Co-Loaders, Transportation Companies)
- Respond to new shipment or storage inquiries from existing customers and freight forwarders
- Follow up on sent offers
- Manage customer and inquiry data entry into the CRM system
- Organize supplier visits to enhance company capabilities for cost reduction
- Conduct new customer visits
- Perform trend analysis and market research to identify target customers and markets
- Develop sales strategies on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis
- Handover secured business to the Operations team with all necessary details
- Prepare sales reports and participate in company-scheduled meetings and social activities
- Commit to operating in line with the Safety, Health & Environmental program
- Plan and strive to meet annual budget targets
