Sales Manager

Client Overview:
Our client is a globally established freight forwarder with a long-standing reputation in the industry. Specialising in comprehensive logistics and supply chain solutions. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to help expand their business, particularly within the air freight sector.
Position Summary:
Our client is looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial Sales Manager with at least 3 years of experience in air freight. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in client acquisition and account retention, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to work independently as well as within a skilled team. Experience with other modes of transport and a background in operations will be considered an advantage. Familiarity with export processes from Germany will be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement sales strategies to acquire new clients and expand the air freight business for the client.
* Manage and grow existing accounts by ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
* Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
* Identify new market opportunities and stay updated on industry trends, with a focus on air freight.
* Actively participate in networking events and trade shows to enhance the client's market presence.
* Meet and exceed sales targets, with regular reporting on key metrics and sales performance.
* Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve service offerings.
* Work both independently and within a highly skilled team environment.
* Contribute to the overall growth strategy of the client by leveraging industry insights and market knowledge.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in air freight sales.
* Proven track record of client acquisition and account retention.
* Experience in other modes of transport (sea, road, or rail) is a bonus.
* Operational experience within the freight forwarding industry is highly desirable.
* Experience in export logistics from Germany is a plus.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build long-term relationships.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, self-starter attitude.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
* Fluent in both German and English; additional language skills would be advantageous.
