Powerhouse Shift Supervisor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise hourly employees and Team Leaders, ensuring accurate timekeeping, efficient scheduling, employee development, and adherence to HR policies in a unionized environment.
- Promote and enforce safety and environmental compliance by conducting training, issuing safety permits, holding one-on-one meetings, and implementing safety and environmental policies.
- Maintain product quality within assigned areas by adhering to ISO standards and quality benchmarks.
- Meet production targets by troubleshooting process issues, ensuring compliance with SOPs and KPIs, and maintaining effective housekeeping practices.
- Enhance equipment reliability through effective operator rounds, efficient maintenance resource management, prompt work request submissions, and leadership during equipment outages.
- Foster clear communication among employees, peers, and supervisors through shift turnover meetings, expectation setting, consistent feedback and coaching, incident investigations, and variance reporting.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and support hourly staff to achieve both short-term and long-term operational goals.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent operational experience in a Power & Recovery setting.
- Strong understanding of integrated pulp and paper mill operations.
- Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in power and recovery processes.
- Ability to build trust and collaborate effectively across various functions.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities to meet both short- and long-term objectives.
- Proficiency in Office productivity tools and enterprise planning systems.
- Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
