Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Operations Supervisor to oversee and optimise our freight forwarding operations in Zurich. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily logistics activities, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining compliance with international and local regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, industry expertise, and a customer-centric approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily freight forwarding operations across air, ocean, and road transport.
Ensure efficient handling of shipments, documentation, and customs clearance procedures.
Monitor and optimise operational workflows to improve service quality and efficiency.
Work closely with carriers, vendors, and customers to maintain high service standards.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including customs, IATA, and local trade laws.
Train, mentor, and support the operations team to drive performance and professional development.
Resolve operational issues and proactively address potential challenges.
Analyze key performance metrics and implement process improvements.
Collaborate with internal departments to enhance customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
Requirements:
Proven experience in freight forwarding operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of air, ocean, and road freight logistics.
Understanding of customs procedures, regulatory compliance, and international trade regulations.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office applications.
Fluent in English and German (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
