The Quality Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our quality management systems (QMS). You will lead a team of quality professionals and work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to maintain high-quality manufacturing processes, reduce defects, and ensure compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Systems Management: Develop, implement, and maintain the company's quality management system (QMS) to ensure product quality, consistency, and compliance with industry standards.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of quality control professionals. Provide guidance, training, and performance management to ensure team members uphold the highest standards.
- Inspection & Testing: Oversee product inspection and testing processes across all stages of manufacturing. Ensure that products meet all specifications, safety requirements, and customer expectations before they leave the facility.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, quality control procedures, and operational efficiency. Implement corrective actions to reduce defects, improve yield, and enhance product quality.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate product defects or non-conformities using root cause analysis. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
- Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components. Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier performance to maintain high-quality standards.
- Compliance & Regulatory Standards: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements. Stay current on industry standards and certifications to ensure the company's products meet or exceed all relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001, etc.).
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed records of quality control activities, audits, inspections, and test results. Provide regular reports to senior management regarding quality performance, trends, and issues.
- Customer Focus: Act as a key point of contact for customer quality concerns. Investigate customer complaints and ensure prompt resolution to enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading quality initiatives and managing a quality team in a manufacturing setting.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001, ASQ Certified Quality Manager) is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), inspection methods, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in using quality tools and techniques such as SPC, FMEA, root cause analysis, and control charts.
- Experience with supplier quality management and conducting audits.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
