Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer (PCB Programming)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in PCB programming and continuous improvement methodologies to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for printed circuit boards (PCBs), ensuring efficiency and quality throughout the production cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Development: Design and optimize manufacturing processes for PCB assembly, including surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole assembly.
PCB Programming: Create and modify programming for PCB assembly machines, such as pick-and-place machines and automated test equipment, to ensure precise and efficient production.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish inspection protocols, identify defects, and implement corrective actions to improve product reliability and performance.
Technical Support: Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshooting issues related to PCB assembly and programming to minimize downtime.
Documentation: Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and manufacturing specifications.
Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products and modifications to existing designs, providing feedback on design for manufacturing (DFM) best practices.
Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing processes through lean manufacturing techniques, process optimization, and the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen).
Training: Train production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices in PCB manufacturing.
AutoCAD Skills: Utilize AutoCAD for layout and design modifications, contributing to the integration of PCB designs into the manufacturing workflow.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, specifically in PCB assembly and programming.
Technical Skills: Proficient in PCB programming languages and software (e.g., Gerber, IPC standards, programming for pick-and-place machines). Strong skills in AutoCAD for layout and design work.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on root cause analysis and process improvement.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a strong focus on individual responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automated test equipment and programming for in-circuit testing (ICT).
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC-2221).
- Familiarity with CAD tools for PCB design (e.g., Altium, Eagle, or similar).
