A rapidly growing Food & Beverage organization is seeking a Director of Procurement to play a pivotal role in optimizing their purchasing function and maintaining high-level customer & supplier relationships. This is a brand new position due to the company's immense growth from their major partnerships. They are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Executive with exceptional negotiations skills and Meat/Food Procurement experience.
Director of Procurement - Key Responsibilities:.
- Sourcing and Purchasing: Identify, evaluate, and select meat suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability. Negotiate contracts and purchase agreements to secure the best terms and prices.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent supply and quality of meat products. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging suppliers. Use this information to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all meat products meet company standards and regulatory requirements. Work closely with quality assurance teams to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of products. Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
- Cost Management: Develop and manage budgets for meat procurement. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality.
Director of Procurement - Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ proven years experience in procurement, preferably within the meat industry.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent understanding of market analysis and sourcing strategies.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
