Title: Commodity Manager - Steel
Reporting structure involves reporting directly to the Vice-President of Procurement, with functional reporting to the Plant Manager of Shreveport.
Acts as the primary procurement contact for the Plant Manager, manufacturing, logistics, engineering, and maintenance departments regarding these commodities. Communication includes purchasing activities and ensuring alignment.
Responsibilities include overseeing the procurement and management of various commodities:
- Management of billet contracts and procurement (approx. $250-300 million), including developing a secondary supplier.
- Scrap commodity management (approx. $16 million).
- Logistics commodity management (approx. $23 million).
- Oversight of processors (quenching & tempering, threading, and couplings) valued at approximately $8 million.
- Management of auxiliaries commodities (approx. $7 million).
Key duties involve:
- Executing measures based on commodity strategies, overseeing their implementation, and contributing to strategy development.
- Direct management of Project Buyers and coordination with the Procurement Manager of Shreveport's Procurement Organization.
- Conducts regular supplier evaluations, arranges supplier evaluation meetings, and participates in supplier audits for T&E suppliers.
- Assists in managing supplier claims, evaluating containment and preventive actions, and promoting supplier development.
- Demonstrates adherence to company core values of respect, courage, and ambition in daily work and goal setting.
- Additional responsibilities include negotiating contracts, managing and developing suppliers within each commodity, and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to commodities and supplier performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years of procurement experience
- Knowledge of steel market
