About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Category Manager for Indirect Services to join our procurement team. This remote role, based in the Netherlands, offers a unique opportunity to play a critical part in optimizing our indirect spend categories and developing strategic sourcing initiatives. The Category Manager will be responsible for managing relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving value for the company by enhancing supplier performance and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for the indirect services category, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate agreements that benefit the organization's strategic goals.
- Spend Analysis & Optimization: Conduct detailed spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, potential risks, and areas for improvement within indirect spend categories such as facilities, HR services, marketing, and IT.
- Market Research & Benchmarking: Perform regular market analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing and identify emerging industry trends that could impact sourcing decisions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to understand business needs, align on category requirements, and support procurement initiatives.
- Risk Management: Develop and maintain risk mitigation strategies within indirect procurement to minimize supply chain disruptions and ensure business continuity.
- Contract Negotiation & Compliance: Lead contract negotiations for indirect services, ensuring favorable terms and conditions. Monitor and ensure compliance with contract terms and company policies.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Support the organization's sustainability goals by integrating responsible sourcing practices within indirect procurement strategies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in procurement or category management, preferably within indirect services such as facilities, IT, or HR services.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP Ariba) and data analysis tools. Advanced Excel skills required.
- Analytical Skills: Demonstrated experience in analyzing data to make informed decisions and recommendations.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven experience in negotiation and contract management.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English; proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.
